I hope I’m wrong in thinking his tariffs will cause inflation, like they have done in the past and that many economists are predicting will happen again.
I hope I’m wrong to think he will not actually pull off the largest deportation in American history as he has promised to do. If he does, I hope I am wrong to think it will hurt unsuspecting communities. I hope I am wrong and they do it without separating children from their parents and loved ones. I also hope I am wrong to think it will also cause inflation, as many economists say.
I hope I, and Elon Musk, are wrong to think the US is going to through financial hardships in the short term because of Trump’s policies.
I hope I am wrong about trickle down economics and the wealthiest 1% in America will start redistributing their wealth to the 99%. I hope corporations increase wages when they get another tax break instead of doing stock buybacks.
I hope I am wrong to think that Trump will end the war in Ukraine by giving Putin what he wants.
I hope I am wrong to think that Trump will abandon our European allies if Putin continues his war westward.
I hope I am wrong to think Trump will end the war in Gaza by giving Netanyahu what he wants.
I hope I am wrong to think SCOTUS will somehow overturn the right to same-sex marriage and send it back to the states.
I hope I’m wrong about climate change. I hope these hotter days and stronger storms are much ado about nothing. I hope that climate scientists are wrong and change will come any day.
I hope I’m wrong to think Trump will restrict the sale of abortion drugs via the Comstock act. That if given the chance, he won’t mandate that anyone 15+ weeks pregnant must carry to term.
I hope I’m wrong to think Trump won’t help communities in need after natural disasters because they didn’t vote for him.
I hope I’m wrong to be worried that he is going to seduce America into fascism, something we may never recover from.
I hope I’m wrong to think they will take fluoride out of our water, one of America’s greatest public health success stories.
I hope I’m wrong that increased availability of guns leads to more gun deaths. That with enough thoughts and prayers children will stop shooting up schools.
I hope I’m wrong to worry about an outbreak of polio or measles because Trump will not fund schools who require vaccinations.
I really hope I’m wrong because the data and history suggest I’m right.
